We would like to enjoin all SK Officials as the Center for Local and Regional Governance (CLRG) under the University of the Philippines – National College for Public Administration and Governance (UP-NCPAG) in partnership with the National Youth Commission (NYC) will conduct its first ever LOCAL POLICYMAKING AND PARTICIPATORY GOVERNANCE TRAINING to all SK Officials on October 14-28, 2022!
The module on “Youth Participation in Local Governance” (YPLGov) is the first in the series of six courses under the SK Continuing Training Module on Local Policymaking and Participatory Governance identified by the SK Steering Committee. It forms part of the Youth in Local Governance Program of CLRG.
The module will be implemented using a hybrid setup that can be completed within fourteen (14) days – 75 % asynchronous, self-directed online sessions through the CLRG website, and 25% synchronous through Zoom. It is equivalent to six (6) training hours.
Through this course, participants will develop a greater sense and appreciation of why youth engagement and participation in local governance are necessary. Specific key benefits of completing this course are:
1. Appreciation of the importance of participation in general, and youth engagement in local governance in particular;
2. Understanding the issues confronting youth participation;
3. Being familiar with participation spaces and avenues for the youth;
4. Understanding the factors affecting youth participation; and
5. Knowing some approaches to deepen youth engagement in the community.-Certificate of Completion

For the FIRST BATCH, the training team will accommodate a maximum of 50 participants with FREE REGISTRATION. The registration fee for the succeeding batches is Php 1,200.00 for the YPLGov Training Course.
REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS will have access to the course platform and powerpoint materials (to be given after the course). A certificate of completion will be awarded to those who will successfully complete the course.
