THE City of Talisay in Metro Cebu will soon have its own Special Weapons and Tactics (Swat) personnel. At least 16 policemen of Talisay will undergo training for two months before they become full-fledged members of Swat. They will be equally divided into two teams.

The so-called elite personnel in the ranks of the Philippine National Police (PNP) will serve as the back-up team of the local police units during police operations.

They are also capable of handling incidents such as bomb threat since this is part of their training.

Lieutenant Colonel Randy Caballes, chief of Talisay City Police Station, said that hopefully this year, they can start training selected police officers. The training will be funded by the City Government through Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas.
